Variations Scotland is a chamber music holiday in the Scottish Highlands. An example of an older generation website where the designer had made the most of the tools and technologies available at the time. However, time and the web have moved on. When the charitable organisation contacted me, the shortcomings of these now outmoded technologies were apparent…
The narrow page width, harking back to a lower resolution era, was drowned by modern widescreens. The non-responsive nature of the site made it unreadable and hard to navigate on smaller, touchscreen devices. A basic, jury-rigged content management system made website updates unwieldy.
Following a management meeting it was decided that the site should be redeveloped from scratch.
Built on a WordPress foundation, the new website is simple to update, responsive, has a secure participants area, and includes professionally taken photography.
On behalf of the Board I would like to express our thanks for the work you have carried out to update our website. Jonathan tells me you have been a pleasure to work with and we are all extremely pleased with the results. It will also be very helpful to be able to maintain our site more easily in future.
Thanks again and we look forward to your continuing support.
